Introduction

An exciting opportunity has become available with our global design and engineering client for a Lead Civil Designer.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead and manage the civil design process for a variety of sustaining capital projects, including ports, NPI, and haul roads.
  • Oversee local and offshore teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-quality project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance on design tasks, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop detailed designs using Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, and 12D for mining infrastructure.
  • Drive project outcomes through effective planning, problem-solving, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure all deliverables meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Review and optimise design workflows and processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of civil design experience within the mining industry.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams across local and offshore resources.
  • Expertise in haul road design, port facilities, and non-process infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, and 12D software.
  • Strong knowledge of sustaining capital projects and mining infrastructure standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive collaboration across multiple teams.
