Introduction

What are you going to do 

Brunel is currently working with a large Oil and Gas producer, seeking a Field Operator for their operations in the Northwest Territories. This is a 12 month contract position, on a 14x14 rotation, FIFO from Edmonton, Alberta.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring safe and efficient operation of field facilities including production wells, injection wells, and gathering facilities.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting operational issues with production and injection wells; reporting findings to the Field Optimization Specialist.
  • Optimizing facility profitability and promptly responding to operational upsets.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving problems to prevent escalation.
  • Performing isolation, lockout, and zero-energy procedures for field facility maintenance activities.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment throughout field operations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed secondary education with previous experience as a Field Technician.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong commitment to Safety, Health, and Environment practices, and capable of fostering these values in others.
  • Proficient in pipeline operations and familiar with safety and operations management tools and processes.
  • Knowledgeable in Emergency Preparedness Procedures and Project Philosophy and Design Specifications.
  • Familiar with relevant regulations and commercial agreements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Petroleum Engineering Technology.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • Gas Process Operator Certificate.
