Our client is looking to add a Site Chemist to their tenured team in the Darling Downs Region. What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, and actively participate in the company's HSE systems and procedures.
  • Manage the steam and water cycle chemistry, chemical programs, and water treatment plants, including Reverse Osmosis and wastewater systems.
  • Oversee the care, preventative maintenance, and operation of laboratory and field equipment.
  • Lead the Site Chemical Technician team, providing expert chemistry advice and supporting plant operations.
  • Manage chemical procurement, distribution, and oversee chemical plant modifications and upgrades.
  • Coordinate hazardous materials, SDS register, dangerous goods, environmental monitoring, and reporting for the Power Station.
  • Lead incident analysis, identify root causes for continuous improvement, and contribute to budget management and development.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Skills & Experience:

  • Science, Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Degree
  • Experience in the power industry in a station / heavy industry chemistry role
  • Implementation and optimisation of boiler and chemical dosing, sampling, and monitoring regimes
