Introduction

Brunel is working closely with a leading, integrated energy company seeking an experienced Project Development Manager to lead the development and execution of major energy projects from early stage through to FID. This role is critical in driving the company's energy transition strategy by overseeing the successful delivery of high-value projects and contributing to future growth and sustainability goals.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Development:

  • Lead and coordinate teams to execute complex power development projects.
  • Negotiate key contracts and manage project budgets.
  • Secure necessary permits and licenses for project completion.
  • Identify and manage risks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Business Development:

  • Support the preparation of business cases for new power generation opportunities.
  • Manage due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Provide strategic advice on emerging energy technologies.

Growth Strategy:

  • Contribute to identifying new opportunities for generation development and investment.
  • Participate in evaluating emerging generation technologies.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Monitor project progress and financials.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and lead community consultation

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Commerce, or related fields is preferred. A dual qualification in both business and technical disciplines is advantageous.

Key Challenges:

  • Negotiating high-value commercial agreements.
  • Planning successful project execution within a complex regulatory and financing environment.
  • Managing multiple projects and stakeholders, including network service providers.
  • Overseeing planning and regulatory processes with a strong focus on project, regulatory, and risk management.
  • Extensive experience in the power industry, particularly in renewable energy project development.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from concept to completion.

Meeting in Real Life

After successfully making through the phone interview, a face to face interview will be scheduled between the candidate and recruiter. This session can be a more in-depth  interview to review your communication and interpersonal skills.
