Introduction

Our client are a Builder / Developer based in the Sunshine Coast who work on predominately High Rise Residential buildings. They are an incredibly stable brand with 20+ years of experience and consistent projects in the pipeline to ensure their continuation in the market.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement WHSE (Work Health, Safety, and Environment) policies, management systems, and procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and address WHSE hazards and non-compliance.
  • Issue non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and safety alerts.
  • Onboard and train contractors and employees on WHSE practices.
  • Prepare safety reports, including monthly updates for management.
  • Lead incident investigations, safety documentation, and record-keeping.
  • Interpret and apply WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Create WHSE documents (e.g., SWMS, SOP, JSA) and manage WHSE for contractors and employees.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety award events.
  • Resolve on-site conflicts, ensuring safety and coordination among trades.
  • Promote safety awareness and compliance with business and industry standards.
  • Manage hazards, utilizing PPE, exclusion zones, and protective measures for all on-site personnel.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Cert 4 in HSE.
  • 2+ years experience working on Multi-Storey Commercial Construction projects.
  • Experience using Procore and Sign On Site (Preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with the employees and subcontractors on site.
