Introduction

On behalf of our client, a Global Oil & Gas Operator, we are searching for a Marine Advisor to join their team in their Perth based operations on a 12 month contract.

What are you going to do 

The position provide marine assurance support to the Marine team to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations to Ichthys Onshore/Offshore Operations, Drilling, IMR and Projects.

Further Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute Marine standards and philosophies that support safe, environmentally responsible and high operational availability, of marine terminal assets to Offshore and Onshore Operations.
  • Ensure Company compliance to International, Commonwealth and State/Territory marine regulatory requirements.
  • Actively manage marine contractors (inc. Ship vetting and inspection, pilot/loading master, harbor towage and offtake support
  • Vetting and compatibility of ships proposed to load at Ichthys terminals
  • Provide advice on best practice marine terminal operations
  • Identify and manage opportunities for cost Optimisation of marine assets and activities
  • Support Offshore and GEP IMR activities
  • Provide subject matter expertise to internal clients

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Master (Unlimited) or Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency with hydrocarbon endorsement, (essential)
  • Experience on trading tankers/carriers
  • Valid MSIC
  • Prior experience in a senior marine seagoing position, onboard LNG/LPG/Oil tankers (minimum Chief Mate)
  • Understanding of port and terminal operations
  • Experience with Offshore vessel and FPSO operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable International Conventions and Commonwealth/State/Territory Acts and regulations.
