Introduction

Brunel is seeking an Electrical Draftsperson for our mining client. You will be responsible for producing technical drawings, plans, and diagrams based on specifications provided by designers and design engineers.

What are you going to do 

  • Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and diagrams, including 3D models of enclosure assemblies and installations, and harness and cable routes.
  • Translation of Specifications: Translate rough sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions into accurate drawings, including flattened production drawings with 2D to 3D association.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work with operations to identify drawing issues and collaborate with design engineers to clarify design intent or resolve design issues.
  • Modifications: Modify and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback and changes in design requirements.
  • Documentation: Create bills of materials (BOM) and other documentation required for manufacturing or construction.
  • Organization: Maintain accurate records and documentation, organizing drawings systematically and in accordance with ISO 9001.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology - Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent experience.
  • Previous drafting experience or equivalent field experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail to create accurate drawings.
  • Ability to review and identify potential design issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and product specifications.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to quickly turn around assignments.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
