Introduction

Brunel is looking to hire a Lease Operator to work with a Major Oil and Gas company in Eucutta, MS on a long term contract.

What are you going to do 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of co-workers, adhering to and enforcing all safety rules.
  • Act as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities, with knowledge of process flow, unit chemistry, major line-ups, and safety equipment, including isolation points.
  • Monitor processes using computer data, schematics, and physical inspections to ensure optimal operations.
  • Issue Safe Work Permits, demonstrating proficiency in current operating conditions and assessing chemical, personnel, and process safety risks.
  • Conduct gas testing to ensure safe maintenance activities.
  • Perform process monitoring, including tank gauging, reading meters, recording data, sampling, and checking equipment for leaks, freezing, or overheating.
  • Conduct visual maintenance by monitoring temperature, pressure, level, flow rate, and vibration, ensuring equipment operates within defined parameters.
  • Adjust process parameters to maintain product specifications.
  • Maintain company vehicles and coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling as necessary.
  • Keep accurate electronic or paper records, including gauge sheets, noting production changes.
  • Inspect and verify control valve positions for proper alignment.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, such as adding lubricants, tightening valve packing, changing filters, and clearing equipment.
  • Communicate with the Production Foreman about process conditions and changes.
  • Perform equipment winterization and summarization for efficiency.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college degree or trade school certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience in a closely related role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and be available for call-outs as needed.
  • Experience maintaining, operating, and repairing surface equipment for oil and gas production.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift more than 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairways, and use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
  • Familiarity with safety detectors and related equipment.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
