Introduction

What are you going to do 

  • Conduct inspections of electrical and instrumentation systems in Ex (explosion-proof) environments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ATEX, IECEx).
  • Assess and document the integrity of Ex-rated equipment and installations onboard the FPSO.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks associated with explosive atmospheres.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve any non-conformities found during inspections.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in safety audits and contribute to safety training programs related to Ex safety practices.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Certification in EX equipment inspection (e.g., CompEx or equivalent).
  • Minimum10 years of experience in hazardous area inspections, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety standards applicable to FPSO operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
