Introduction

On behalf of our client, a High Profile Global Service Provider to the Oil & Gas Energy sector, Brunel is presently recruiting a Procurement Advisor based in Darwin. This is a Darwin residential role only and is open to candidates residing locally with full Australian Working Rights. The position will be based onshore working Monday to Friday.

What are you going to do 

As a member of the Supply Chain Team, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for Procurement, Expediting and Control of the entire supply chain from requisition until delivery.

  • Consolidate as many regular orders as possible and keep the number of deliveries and cost of freight and custom handling to a minimum, by liaising with freight forwarder, client and logistics at country of operation when required
  • Assure quality, suitability of spares and equipment purchased, in close liaison with adequate departments/ division
  • Apply thorough cost control on all goods quoted, purchased and supplied under his/her responsibility
  • Assist other departments with detailed information about logistic and purchasing matters if/ when requested
  • Enforce Offshore Unit Management to follow Company's Policies and Procedures in Supply Chain matters

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification within Purchasing and/or Logistics Administration will be desirable, but not essential
  • Previous procurement experience within the Oil & Gas sector
  • Good understanding of ERP systems and understanding of contracts is highly desirable
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across the teams
  • Motivated team player
  • Process driven with good negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the local supply market within the Oil & Gas industry and general knowledge of the international supplier market is desirable
  • Familiarity with industry terminology
