Introduction
- Responsible for piping and layout engineering activities for off plot FEED Project
- Ensuring that all piping and layout activities comply with project requirements and specification
- Provides visible safety leadership through active participation in the off-plot Project Safety Program
- Understand and communicate the requirements of Company to Contractor
- Efficiently translate Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the FEED Contractor and verify compliance with Company requirements, standards, specifications and instructions
- Manage the FEED Contractor in the safe delivery of the design scope
- Monitor the progress and delivery of piping and layout works meeting project schedule and milestones.
What are you going to do
- Responsible to ensure Contractor deliver a complete Piping & Layout engineering deliverables during FEED.
- Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations.
- Responsible to check, review and appraise all piping & layout technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) developed by Contractor are in compliance with project scopes and requirements and identify potential risks to project if any.
- Manage Contractor’s Piping and Layout disciplines resources and to ensure work completion on time
- Responsible for all model reviews conducted during design development
- Monitors and reports actual progress including SP3D model development to ensure Contractor completion of key milestones
- Provide technical support to project and coordinate multi-discipline input on piping & layout deliverables
- Participate in various project’s workshop such as Hazardous Operations (HAZOP or HAZID etc.) reviews
- Assists with expectations as required especially Risk Assessment, Facility Design and Construction and Management of Change
- Tracking and reporting of lessons learned in defined area of responsibility
- Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures
- Works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills
- Well established awareness of policies and procedures with high expectations for business controls compliance and to further develop controls to meet changing needs
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in piping & layout discipline with at least five years of lead discipline experience in major capital project.
- Possess brownfield project experience with at least two executed brownfield projects.
- Good understanding layout development requirements and equipment / material handling requirements
- Experience with FEED contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
- Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds
- Knowledgeable in Codes & Standards
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
- Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
