Introduction

We are looking for a Machinery Engineer III to work with one of our major Oil and Gas clients on a contract position located in Clinton, NJ

What are you going to do 

* Technical position within Product Operations and Testing Laboratory providing test engineering support and leadership for lubricant product development* Provide technical leadership to the testing and evaluation of lubricant products in industrial equipment and systems
* Develop and implement test procedures according to OEM and equipment builder specifications, industry standard and for screening tests* Advance company's technical positions in industry, academic, regulatory and professional areas related to lubricant performance evaluation
* Interact with OEMs and equipment builders for critical hardware and rig set-up information* Monitor and track severity and precision of test rigs
* Participate in industry activities related to the development of new tests and surveillance of existing tests* Monitor and troubleshoot operation of test rigs
* Prioritize testing activities and track availability and utilization of test rigs* Monitor calibration of critical measuring equipment
* Ensure compliance with quality control and data integrity expectations

Essential skills and knowledge 

* M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred* Knowledge of industrial equipment (e.g. hydraulic pumps, compressors and gearboxes) design and operation
* Good understanding of theory and application of hydraulic systems* Strong leadership skills with ability to coordinate multiple projects independently and
simultaneously, and direct / coordinate work of supporting staff* Effective communication (written and oral) and networking skills, assertive, team player with general interest attitude
* Quick learner with logical reasoning and interest in tackling engineering challenges* Ability to conduct in-depth analysis of test data
* Strong focus toward safety management and environmental compliance* Formal scientific/engineering training to advanced degree level in Engineering
* Industry interface experience (e.g. ASTM, AGMA, DIN, etc)* Industrial machinery and hydraulic system testing knowledge
* Familiarity with failure analysis and machinery component inspection methodologies* Experience working with rotating equipment such as pumps, motors and dynamometers
* Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills* Proficiency with data visualization and analysis computing tools
