Introduction

We're looking for a hands on electical professional to join a tight knit team based in Mt Isa. You'll be on the ground commissioning, servicing, and repairing gas powered generators and other essential capital equipment that powers the local mining industry.

What are you going to do 

  • Commissioning gas powered generators.
  • Servicing and repairing essential capital equipment.
  • Supporting the local mining industry with on the ground expertise
  • Conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Collaborating with a small team to meet project deadlines and operational goals.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to other team members when needed.
  • Documenting service reports, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Trade background: Electrical
  • Experience: Maintenance of fixed plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment
  • Power station experience: A plus, especially if you've worked with heavy reciprocating machinery or Jenbacher power units
  • Skills: Excellent communication, basic computer proficiency
  • Location: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Mt Isa Region
