Introduction

Seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with 15+ years of experience in FEED engineering within the Australian mining industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mineral process plants and bulk material handling systems.

What are you going to do 

We are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering (FEED) within the Australian mining industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected engineering consultancy focused on delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for major mining projects.

This role will be a 12 month contract based in Perth CBD.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Experience: 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the mining sector, with strong expertise in mineral process plants and bulk material handling systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in FEED engineering, mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar), and project management tools.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of delivering sustaining capital projects with excellent skills in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring a team, with the ability to foster collaboration and guide teams to success.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Essential:

  • Experience in managing in-house projects for mine sites with a variety of engineering tasks and challenges
  • Must hold Australian right to work, we are unable to consider overseas candidates
