What are you going to do 

There is the opportunity for an Entry Level Production Technician, in this role you will be responsible for the assembly and material handling for the manufacture of electrolysers at our Gladstone, QLD facility.
You will be trained to prepare and position parts for assembly, ensure each component is picked, located, placed, and fastened together correctly, check connections and log any discrepancies. The role also requires you to be able to read measurements, verify specifications, measure completed components and assemble parts to approved specifications.

  • Collect and assemble components and mechanical parts and specialised tooling.
  • Inspect materials in process to ensure correct assembly. Perform tests to confirm correct assembly.
  • Hands on mechanical approach with tools for assembly, including use of hand tools, power tools and automation tools
  • Teamwork requiring good coordination and communication.
  • Preform activities with special attention to details, quickly and efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain operational status of the automated assembly lines (robotic lines) as per operating procedures, including performing daily / weekly preventative and user maintenance activities on production equipment and plant.
  • Assist with periodic review of process and documentation.
  • Be able to operate forklift and other fixed and mobile plant equipment and tools as instructed. (Training and any licensing requirement will be provided)

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in product assembly preferred, but not essential.
  • Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, including the safe use of equipment and reporting of incidents.
  • Have a high degree of accuracy and pride in your work and workplace. Be punctual and reliable.
  • Have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Understand production targets, lead times and manufacturing process requirements.
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude / manual dexterity and a passion for assembling intricate components.
  • Has the ability to work unsupervised and a commitment to being a valuable team player.
  • Be willing to take direction and respond positively to instructions.

Ability to use computers to locate and view documents, perform operator data input and monitoring for production control systems.
