Introduction

Brunel has an exciting opportunity long-term contract opportunity for a Junior Contracts Administrator with our client who is a leading mining and metals company in Miami, Arizona. Must be local to Miami, Arizona.

What are you going to do 

Essential Functions

  • Receives and reviews a wide variety of contract requests, and selects the most appropriate sourcing strategy based on the situation and the scope of work; may support one or more specialized areas requiring an increased depth of knowledge.
  • Provides timely, accurate and cost effective contractual agreements to support company operations with an uninterrupted flow of materials and services.
  • Reviews bid proposals from suppliers and recommends or enters into contracts to meet the desired scope of work.
  • Maintains competitive pricing with an emphasis on cost reductions, quality, and supplier performance through competitive bid events, price negotiations, cost modeling, or other sourcing techniques.
  • Identifies supplier performance issues, and works with multiple parties to resolve issues.

  • Nature of Work - Works on complex issues and implements solutions based on management determination of strategy and assignment of responsibilities within their functional area.
  • Level of Interaction - Often collaborates with managers and/or functional or site leaders and may have some interaction with external colleagues.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and five (5) years experience in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering and three (3) years experience in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of commercial contracts management
  • Work involves frequent travel ie commuting to the site of work
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers in a business environment: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large copper production and related facilities
  • Prior EPCM experience preferred
  • Working as a team member (Client, EPCM & Contractors)
