Introduction

  • Provide SHES direction, guidance and leadership to Onshore PMT and CONTRACTOR(s) across all Packages within the assigned area.
  • Perform oversight of the Onshore Welfare Management process to ensure worker welfare and rights are respected and maintained to the highest standards in line with LNG values.
  • Support the Onshore CONTRACTORS and Subcontractors in terms of welfare management and provide regular updates to PMT Management within area of oversight.
  • Supports the Onshore Welfare Division Manager in the stewardship of welfare matters, reporting, recording and ensure the responsible parties take actions when required.
  • Supports Management in terms of project welfare requirements for a large, “one of a kind” LNG plant, including associated facilities and infrastructures comprising of four 7.8 MTPA process trains, large and complex utilities and off-sites.
  • Coordinates across multiple, large Contracts – in particular with the “pool” SHES Team to ensure alignment and proper reporting to the organization, including Major Projects Group, Stakeholders (e.g. LNG HSE&Q and RLIC).
  • The role is a key position with significant impact on the project SHES performance in terms of effective implementation of, and the compliance with Welfare Programs such as the Village Heroes, Welfare Operation Center, tracking and closure of recorded Welfare Cases. Welfare is a key component in the Major Projects golden triangle (Safety, Quality, Welfare).
  • Job holder oversees all CONTRACTOR’s and SUB-CONTRACTOR’s Welfare Programs in assigned package which includes Personal Welfare; Contract Welfare; Site Welfare; Camp Welfare to ensure the highest standards of worker welfare and rights are maintained.

What are you going to do 

  • Supports relevant package in terms of welfare matters which may include Personal Welfare; Contract Welfare; Site Welfare; Camp Welfare.
  • Ensure that welfare matters that are reported to the Welfare Operation Center (WOC) within relevant package, is recorded and tracked to closure including escalation to management of more serious cases that may require urgent attention.
  • Coordinate and supports the project peer-to-peer counsellors (Village Heroes) in all their activities, including regular catch up meetings, counselling, selection, training and onboarding of new village heroes.
  • Supports the project Resilience Program including mental health for PMT, EPC and Subcontractor teams.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Minimum of ten (10) years industry relevant HSE experience with specific responsibilities in disciplines such as welfare-, training-, camp-, security-, or health management.
  • International project experience with Tier-1 Contractors or Client, involved in the construction of onshore production facilities (i.e. greenfield and brownfield work).
  • Sound knowledge of the project execution process in large-scale project environments (expenditure >US$ 1 Bn).
  • Welfare Related Qualification which may include; Welfare, Psychology; Teaching; Sprots; Health; Security degree.
  • SHES related Certification; NEBOSH (or equivalent); or TapRoot Investigation;
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills; confident and clear presentation development and delivery
  • Able to cope with excessive workload and work under extreme pressure, keeping the team calm and focused
  • Strong teamwork, facilitation, with the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of organization
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures to obtain a world-class SHES performance.
  • Creates high quality and accurate output in a timely manner.
  • Team player who can effectively collaborate within project Teams and with external parties.
  • Computer literate, familiar working with Microsoft Officer applications.
