Introduction

On behalf of our client, Woodside Energy, Brunel is presently recruiting a Business Unit Financial Accountant for a 12 month contract. The purpose of the position is to provide Financial Accounting guidance and recommendations across the Bass Strait, Macedon and Pyrenees Business Units. This includes ensuring the financial results, including budget and forecasts, adhere to the Corporate Policies and Guidelines.

What are you going to do 

You will be responsible for:

  • Manage the financial results for allocated business units including communicating results to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the subsidiary accounting for Bass Strait, Macedon and Pyrenees
  • Manage the financial accounting entries for Bass Strait, Macedon and Pyrenees
  • Ensure all financial accounting documentation is maintained
  • Engagement with the internal and external auditors

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Demonstrate commitment to and alignment with Woodside's Our Values
  • Experience in preparation of statutory financial reports
  • Sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Strong understanding and/or experience working in a SOX environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong financial and commercial analytical skills
  • Excellent understanding with accounting under various regimes, ie non-operated joint venture arrangements
