Introduction

We are currently seeking an Application Specialist to work on a contract basis across operational and technical support.

The position will be FIFO on an 8:6 roster working on a 12 month contract to begin, with the possibility to be extended after this time.

What are you going to do 

As an Application Specialist, you will be act as a technology leader to ensure readiness for fleet deployment within Rio Tinto's RSAT mining endeavour. This will include guiding technology design based on operational requirements, managing day-to-day goals and activities and guarantee compliance at the various stages of the development life cycle.

Work will involve liaising with all stakeholders to ensure that solutions are developed and deployed in accordance with RTIO safety practices, relevant legislation, and Australian/international standards. You will also lead the handover of the product once it is ready for deployment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Essential education and experience:

  • Experience with Wenco, FrontRunner, or MineStar FMS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant trade experience
  • Previous pit mining experience
  • Advanced level computing skills and Microsoft Office suite (PPT, Word, MS Project etc)

To be successful in this role you will also:

  • Be self-motivated
  • Have good working knowledge of existing safe work procedures and best practice
  • Have the ability to communicate information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
