Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Process Operators to join the ore processing facility team for a leading iron ore company in the Pilbara. This is an exciting FIFO opportunity from Perth to contribute to the safety, reliability, and efficiency of processing operations. Working on a 2:2 roster or 2:1 roster, this is a 6-month contract with potential for extension based on operational needs and performance.

What are you going to do 

As a Process Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment within a mining environment, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high safety and performance standards. Using your mining process expertise, you will monitor plant operations, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with team members to drive operational success. You will work closely with stakeholders to build strong relationships and ensure the successful delivery of key responsibilities, including

  • Operating processing equipment by monitoring and operating crushers, conveyors, mills, screens, pumps, and other plant equipment
  • Control room monitoring using control systems such as SCADA to manage processing variables like flow rates, pressures, and temperatures
  • Conducting quality control by sampling and testing ore, slurries, and processed materials to ensure compliance with production specifications
  • Performing plant inspections and maintenance support by carrying out routine inspections, reporting defects, and assisting with minor maintenance or shutdown activities
  • Ensuring safety and compliance by adhering to site safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and following environmental and regulatory standards
  • Troubleshooting and optimising operations by identifying and resolving process inefficiencies, equipment issues, and production bottlenecks
  • Maintaining housekeeping and general duties by keeping a clean and safe work area, ensuring spillage control, and properly disposing of waste

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Proven plant experience within the mining industry
  • Wet/Dry fixed plant experience (preferred)
  • Mobile plant operations experience with relevant tickets
  • System experience with SCADA, Citect, or Simplicity
  • Isolation Officer experience
  • SAP experience
  • Remote control operation of balance machines
  • Valid Driver's Licence (minimum C Class)
  • Full Australian working rights

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
