Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Superintendent with a minimum of 20 years of experience in the mining and construction sectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale, heavy electrical installations within both Contractor and Owners' teams.

What are you going to do 

  • Oversee and coordinate all on-site electrical activities across the project life-cycle to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager to develop and manage construction schedules, resources, and budgets related to electrical works.
  • Supervise and manage contractors, ensuring compliance with project standards and statutory requirements.
  • Perform the role of an Appointed Person (Schedule 26), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and electrical regulations.
  • Oversee HV Switching operations and ensure all electrical isolation procedures are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor work progress, conduct inspections, and ensure high-quality standards across installations and commissioning.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation, aligning with the project's decolonisation goals.
  • Manage documentation, including work packs, technical reports, progress updates, and compliance records.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to site teams and junior staff.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 20+ years of experience in the mining and construction sectors, with significant involvement in heavy electrical installations.
  • Proven experience managing projects within both Contractor and Owner's teams.
  • Familiarity and experience as an Appointed Person (Schedule 26) is essential.
  • WA Electrical License and HV Switching qualifications (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, construction methodologies, and electrical safety standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse site teams effectively.
  • Experience working on decolonisation initiatives or sustainability-focused projects is a plus.
  • A hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical and operational issues.
