Introduction

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Auto Electricians to join our team, working on a 2:2 roster, with potential for permanency. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing drill rigs, with essential experience in drill maintenance and a preference for working on Epiroc D65, Epiroc PV271, and CAT CMD6310 models, for our valued client and leading iron ore producer.

What are you going to do 

As an Auto Electrician for the Mobile Maintenance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drill rigs in the Pilbara. This exciting opportunity allows you to contribute to the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of drill rigs, including Epiroc D65, Epiroc PV271, and CAT CMD6310 models, while collaborating with a dedicated team.

This position demands a high level of technical expertise, fault-finding skills, and a commitment to safety. Experience working in a fast-paced mining environment is essential, along with excellent communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration within the team.

Duties:

  • Maintain large-scale Mining Equipment, with a preference for Epiroc D65, Epiroc PV271, and CAT CMD6310 drills experience
  • Perform diagnostics and fault-finding to ensure optimal performance and reliability of drill rigs
  • Execute workshop and field duties as required, contributing to overall operational efficiency
  • Collaborate effectively with all maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance and seamless mining operations
  • Adhere to all client and site operational procedures and policies
  • Conduct inspections and repairs on electrical systems while following established procedures and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with the team to integrate electrical maintenance and repairs into overall operations

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Recognised auto electricial trade certificate in Australia
  • High Voltage Switching certificate
  • Current CPR/ LVR certificate
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Valid Driver's Licence (Minimum C Class but HR is highly desirable)
  • High-Risk Work Licence (Forklift, Working Platforms)
  • Working at Heights
  • Previous experience working in the mining industry
  • Experience with drills is essential with preferable experience on Epiroc D65, Epiroc PV271, and CAT CMD6310 drills
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems in heavy mining equipment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
