About this role

As an Underground Fitter/Leading Hand, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of all underground mining equipment. This includes troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems as well as conducting preventive maintenance and inspections. You will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is running smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, as a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for supervising a team of fitters, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard. You will be required to work on a FIFO basis, with an expected roster of 21 days on, 14 days off.

List of Requirements

Trade qualification in Mechanical/ Heavy Diesel or equivalent
MUST have experience with underground mining equipment such as loaders, drill rigs (Sandvik DD422i, Epiroc M2D Jumbo & Epiroc L6C Simba's Drill) CAT/ Sandvik Loaders, UG Trucks and other ancillary machines.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Experience conducting preventive maintenance and inspections
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Willingness to work on a FIFO roster
