Introduction

We are seeking skilled Signal Electricians / Technicians to join our maintenance team working on rail infrastructure for a leading iron ore company in the Pilbara. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a 2:2 roster, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our rail operations.

About this role

As a Signal Electrician / Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the rail signalling network located in Port Hedland. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of signalling systems, collaborating with a dedicated team and covering the entire signalling network.

Duties:

  • Proficiently install, inspect, and maintain rail signalling systems in adherence to industry standards and safety regulations
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in signalling systems promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions in rail operations
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections on signalling equipment relevant to the heavy haul rail network
  • Provide signal support during track maintenance activities, ensuring the alignment of both track and signalling work
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and address track and signal faults, ensuring safe and efficient rail network operations
  • Ensure compliance with strict safety protocols and guidelines, conducting pre-operation inspections, reporting any defects or issues, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Test, calibrate, and adjust signalling components to ensure accurate and reliable performance
  • Document and report maintenance activities, issues resolved, and future repair or inspection needs
  • Assist in the commissioning of new signalling equipment and systems when required
  • Participate in fault-finding activities for emergency repairs and breakdowns to restore signalling systems promptly

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Rail Signalling
  • WA Electrical Licence
  • Manual C-Class Driver's Licence
  • CPR/LVR
  • First Aid
  • Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
  • Rail Medical (includes a full Category 1 Rail Safety Worker Medical) - not essential, but candidates must be able undertake one
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Proven experience in rail signalling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm
