Introduction

The Electronics Technician plays a vital role within the crew, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components on all equipment. This position is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, contributing to the overall success of operations.

About this role

We have a current opportunity for a Electronics Technician on a contract basis this role can be FIFO out of all major airports.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring swift and accurate identification of problems, with ability to read electrical and related hydraulic drawings.
  • Execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the accuracy and functionality of sensors, gauges, and monitoring equipment.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations requiring immediate electrical attention.
  • Commission new and repaired equipment.
  • Collaborate with other crew members to address critical electrical failures.
  • Assist in the installation of new electrical systems and components as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct wiring tasks, manage cable connections, and maintain cable trays to guarantee the integrity of electrical connections.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, recommended spares list and installations

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrician or in a similar electrical maintenance role within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Exposure to PLC (programmable logic controller)
  • Exposure to Engine control systems, Preferably CAT J1939
  • Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems on drilling equipment
  • Certificate 3 in electrotechnology or equivalent would be highly desirable
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues in heavy machinery equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control panels
