Introduction

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our tier one mining client on a 6-month contract. This role, based in Perth CBD, presents a superb opportunity for an individual possessing robust accounting skills. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations across various global business units, focusing on maintaining accuracy and ensuring compliance in all aspects of financial reporting.

About this role

Support the month-end financial statement close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to aid in strategic decision-making.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations of high quality, investigating and resolving any discrepancies identified during the process.
Manage accounting entries for funding international subsidiaries, ensuring all transactions are in compliance with applicable financial regulations.
Handle international payroll entries, coordinating with HR departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
Account for regular bank clearing activities, monitoring daily transactions and maintaining records for audit purposes.
Record monthly bonus accruals and credit card accruals, providing detailed analysis and reports to the management team.
Undertake indirect tax accounting for international subsidiaries, staying updated with changes in tax regulations to ensure compliance.
Contribute to the enhancement of financial controls and process improvements, actively participating in initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.

Is this you?

Must have current Australian work rights be considered for this role
CA or CPA qualification is required, demonstrating a high level of expertise in accounting principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
SAP experience is highly beneficial for this role, as it will facilitate efficient handling of financial systems and data analysis.
Resource sector experience is beneficial but not essential
