Introduction

Chevron are currently looking for an Environmental Specialist to join their team on Barrow Island on a 2:2 roster on a 2 year contract.

About this role

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing practical environmental guidance and support to the WA Oil Asset (frontline teams, leaders and Business Partners) with a focus on compliance with environmental regulatory requirements and driving environmental performance improvement using Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) principles
  • Conducting field based environmental safeguard assurance, verification and validation activities
  • Supporting site based environmental activities, including ground and vegetation disturbance, environmental assessments and fauna handling activities
  • Support development and delivery of environmental training and awareness initiatives to increase environmental fluency
  • Building productive working relationships across all stakeholders, including Asset Personnel, Business Partners, HSE, and other support teams, to facilitate alignment and execution efficiency of environmental activities, safeguards and processes
  • Facilitate incident investigations and learning events using Chevron approved Incident investigation methodologies (e.g. 5-Why, SAFE, Y-tree and Learning Teams)

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Environmental qualification (degree or diploma).
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a 'one team' approach working in a small team and collaborating effectively with others.
  • Prior experience in a field based environmental role
  • Prior experience in assurance and fauna handling.
