Introduction
Brunel is seeking a skilled Software Test Designer with a proven track record in software development within technical domains, including semiconductors, analytical technology, and medical devices, to join our client's rapidly growing team.
The company develops advanced software for the high-tech industry, closely aligned with increasingly complex equipment and applications, as well as the ever-higher standards they must meet. From a testing perspective, the challenge is to achieve the right quality as quickly as possible. The position is located in Eindhoven.
What are you going to do
- Test Case Design & Automation: Define and automate comprehensive test cases based on strategy and requirements. Investigate, analyze, and challenge requirements. Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, including BDD and Gherkin.
- Test Execution: Perform manual and automated tests, validate functionality and performance, and document results. Report and track defects until resolved.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to analyze and resolve defects. Provide detailed defect reports and support the bug-fixing process.
- Test Environment Management: Manage test environments, ensure availability of resources, and integrate test automation into the CICD pipeline.
- Test Strategy Contribution: Understand software architecture, identify automation opportunities, and contribute to the overall test strategy.
- Leadership & Change: Contribute to improvement roadmaps, present plans, and engage stakeholders.
- Project Involvement: Participate in large-scale, multidisciplinary projects, spanning multiple departments.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with testing trends, and share knowledge to foster continuous improvement within the team.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field.
- You have 7-10 years of experience in software development within technical domains such as Semicon, Analytical or Medical.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and familiarity with various development and interface technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise as a software test engineer with a track record in defining test cases, running tests and reporting defects within multidisciplinary environments where software interfaces with disciplines such as mechanics and electronics.
- Experience in one or more commonly used programming and scripting languages, particularly Python, C++ or C#.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, preferably including BDD concepts and the Gherkin language.
- Knowledge of CICD pipelines and associated tools.
- ISTQB certified at advanced level or demonstrated willingness to progress from foundation level.
