Introduction

  • The Senior Contracts Engineer works permanently in an interdisciplinary contract environment where he/she establishes contractual documents and participates to the optimization of the economic performance of the operations conducted in the subsidiaries by establishing, monitoring and updating the subsidiary’s contracts of various services.

  • To produce contractual documents according to company procedure and ethics
  • To provide a quality, cost-effective and time efficient contracts to technical entities
  • To participate in the optimization of the economic performance of the operations conducted in Company

What are you going to do 

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to create the contracts dossier, develop contractual responsibilities including the following:
    • Validation of contracts strategy
    • Negotiation and analysis of commercial bids
    • Participation in recommendations to award
    • Manage Contractor’s performance by monitoring KPIs.
    • Ensure the update of the contracts management tool.
    • Keep informed of best practices in contracts procedures in other entities for improvement of contracts practices in COMPANY.
  • Prepare and maintain an up-to-date list of qualified contractors/suppliers/potential tenders/contracts with updated information in order to perform market studies; analyze and assess all possible answers from the market.
  • Participate to the validation of the contract’s strategy through:
    • Arranging and attending Contracts Committee Meetings
    • Pre-qualifying bidders
    • Defining target prices
    • Defining criteria for evaluation
  • Create call for tender documents.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage the call for tender.
  • Verify the alignment with HSE clauses, Company rules, Procedures, Instructions, and applicable legislation when issuing all technical contracts and when drafting contractual and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Verify and confirm the applicable Terms & Conditions
  • Establish the technical contracts and contractual agreements.
  • Conduct bid analysis and negotiation.
  • Prepare and Participate in Recommendation to award (RTA) through contract committee and award validation.
  • Handle the approval from authorities and partners.
  • Ensure the handover of contracts to the Partners’ Entities
  • Provide ongoing support to the operations team in relation to the commercial issues that arise during contract and work with the operations team to identify areas of improvement.
  • The participation in the settlement of disputes together with legal, insurance and finance specialists
  • Perform the close-out of the Contracts.
  • Ensure monitoring on-going contracts status, participate in contract renewal and amendments discussions.
  • Take the necessary measures to always create an incident-free environment and respect HSEQ rules.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • BSc Degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or Commercial field or its equivalent
  • Professional experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience required in Drilling, Geoscience and Marine contracts within the O&G industry.
  • Personal Abilities: Basic Management, Advanced Human Relations, Problem Solving and Planning / organizing / coordinating / controlling.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload and work under pressure within given timescales.
  • Pro-active and forward-looking approach
  • Commitment to provide excellent client relations.
  • C&P competencies
    • Advanced level in Contracts technical Competencies required.
    • C&P tools advanced certification required
