Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Project Operations Supervisor - Earthworks to lead and supervise earthworks for track access, drill sites, and rehabilitation in remote environments. The role involves coordinating logistics and operational tasks while ensuring compliance with HSEC standards. FIFO from Perth with roster variations (8:6 or 12:9) and a 9-month contract, with potential extension.

What are you going to do 

As a Project Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing earthworks contractors, coordinating logistics, and providing operational support for exploration projects in remote environments. Working closely with Project Managers and Ground Disturbance Teams, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and timely execution of track access, drill site establishment, and rehabilitation activities. Your leadership will ensure that all operational activities adhere to the highest safety and environmental standards, contributing to the success of critical projects.

Duties:

  • Supervise and manage earthworks contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and project standards
  • Coordinate logistics, project planning, and operational support in remote exploration locations
  • Establish access tracks, drill site pads, and rehabilitation in the field
  • Train and coach less experienced team members on HSEC policies and operational procedures
  • Work closely with project managers and the ground disturbance approval team to implement operational support plans
  • Provide hands-on supervision and leadership in the field, leading by example
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supervising earthworks activities in remote environments
  • Strong background in coordinating logistics and field operations
  • Experience managing contractors and overseeing earthworks activities
  • Knowledge of HSEC policies and ability to enforce these standards in the field
  • Ability to work in both field and office environments for extended and irregular periods
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with a focus on operational efficiency
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS / MapInfo (highly regarded)
  • Mechanical aptitude and GPS knowledge
  • High Risk Work Licence - Forklift
  • HR Drivers Licence
  • Current WA Manual C-Class Driver's Licence
  • Full Australian Working Right
  • Ability to produce a national police clearance within six months and attend a pre-employment medical
