Introduction

Are you an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter with a knack for maintaining and repairing diesel generators and pumps? Join our dynamic Water Management team in the Pilbara, Western Australia. This FIFO role from Perth offers a balanced 2:2 roster with day shifts only, ensuring you get the perfect blend of work and relaxation. You'll be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our water management equipment, playing a crucial role in our operations.

What are you going to do 

Reporting to the Water Management (Dewatering) Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of diesel generators and pumps. Your role will involve working closely with the Water Management team to uphold equipment reliability and support dewatering operations effectively. Collaborating within the department, you'll contribute to maintaining optimal water management strategies that are crucial to the site's operational success.

  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks on diesel generators, diesel-driven transfer pond pumps, and in-pit trailer-mounted pumps to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues
  • Execute scheduled maintenance tasks for diesel generators, transfer pond pumps, and in-pit trailer-mounted pumps, following manufacturer guidelines and company protocols
  • Provide immediate and effective breakdown maintenance support to minimize downtime and ensure the quick restoration of generator and pump functionality
  • Perform the majority of maintenance tasks in the workshop or mechanical yard environment
  • Assist with and conduct inspections and repairs on multistage submersible pumps and standard single impeller pumps
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely, adhering to safety standards and regulations

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Hold a recognized mechanical trade certificate in Australia
  • Hold a valid Drivers Licence (Minimum C class)
  • Demonstrated heavy mechanical experience working with Diesel Power Generator experience from 6 - 330KVA
  • Demonstrated diesel-driven transfer pond pumps, and in-pit trailer-mounted pumps experience
  • Experience with Diesel engine maintenance or CAT/Perkins/Cummins engines is essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
