Introduction

Brunel is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join a Tier One mining business based in Hazelmere, Perth. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical documentation skills to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Teams, and key stakeholders to gather and synthesise data for documentation creation and revision.
  • Research and interpret technical concepts, equipment, and products, ensuring content is accurate, concise, and user-friendly.
  • Adhere to existing formatting guidelines while providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Support target schedules by working alongside a team of technical writers as needed.
  • Maintain a consistent approach and format across all documentation.
  • Enhance document usability through structured content, formatting, and thorough proofreading.
  • Ensure document control integrity, including revision history tracking and proper approval workflow routing.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the mining, engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and eagerness to learn new technologies and processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical material into Plain English, improving readability through grammatical, syntax, and vocabulary enhancements.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose technical issues and propose solutions, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
