Brunel is currently searching for a Supply Chain Director for direct hire with our client located near Chicago, Il.
In this role you will be responsible for the overall structure and organization of the Supply Chain team; managing daily supply chain, planning, and logistics functions while strategically identifying long-term processes and partnerships that enable us to bring value to our customers by leveraging our strength in Supply Chain.
The Supply Chain Director will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, including buyers, strategic sourcing managers, inventory specialists, and import/export professionals.
Duties:* Develops the adequate framework and organizational structure, including procurement, inventory management, production planning and scheduling, logistics, and transportation to drive efficiencies and continuously reduce costs within our Supply Chain.
* Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory. * Maintains the required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
* Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes. * Maintains and develops partnerships with key suppliers at the senior level, engaging in high-level pricing and contract negotiations; monitoring supplier performance, and addressing issues promptly to increase our competitive advantage in our target markets.
* Implements and monitors KPIs to drive business forward. * Focuses on continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma or lean to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
* Responsible for end-to-end forecasting models; minimize liability and risk, utilize historical data, market trends, and customer insights to predict future demand. * Ensures that all suppliers meet minimum Quality and EHSS standards.
* Assesses and mitigates risks that could disrupt the supply chain, such as disruptions, geopolitical factors, natural disasters, and economic fluctuations. * Evaluates and improves the environmental impact of the supply chain, including reducing waste, energy consumption, and carbon emissions.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
* At least 10 years of proven Supply Chain Management experience is required. * APICS (CSCP or CPIM), PMP, or other role-related certifications are strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of tariffs and import/export in USMCA preferred. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
* Strong supervisory and leadership skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Solid project management and budget management skills required.
* Ability to travel at least 20%. * Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
* Employees regularly work in an office environment. * MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer.
