We have an Oil & Gas company looking for a Commercial Strategy Specialist to join their Supply Chain Management team in Denver, CO!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contracts and procurement strategies for drilling and completions in domestic oil and gas operations. Tasks include creating, extending, amending, or terminating contracts.
  • Draft purchase orders, service orders, and blanket orders to ensure transactional and contingency details are clearly documented.
  • Prepare and negotiate contract terms, master service agreements, commercial terms, and other relevant documents in collaboration with Legal.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish and execute sourcing and value creation strategies.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and strategies to stakeholders concerning Midrange Drilling operations.
  • Promote adherence to preferred vendor programs through user engagement and communication initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on contractual and financial aspects of service contracts.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of drilling contracts, including vendor selection, performance evaluation, and contract closeout.
  • Act as a central liaison between business units, vendor representatives, and key stakeholders, including HR and Legal.
  • Evaluate and prequalify suppliers, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Utilize ERP systems for purchase requisitions, supplier registration, sourcing, contract management, performance evaluation, and contract closure.
  • Interface with internal departments such as Audit, Finance, HES, and Risk Management to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and adherence to contract terms.
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and related meetings.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in a supply chain role
  • Proven ability to deliver favorable commercial results across various spend categories.
  • Proficient in contract analysis, drafting, and negotiation.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic analytical tools.
  • Independent, decisive, and adaptable to change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in a supply chain or similar role.
  • Knowledge of procurement principles and oil and gas drilling operations.
  • Experience with managed service providers and drilling contract management.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Ariba, and Spotfire systems.
