Introduction

Brunel is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a contract role based in Denver, Colorado with travel to Canada and Arizona. Willing to consider non-local candidates on a 4x1 rotation.

What are you going to do 

Supervise, Manage and provide technical guidance to support both Civil and Structural design focusing on copper concentrator plants (crushers, mills, flotation cells, conveyors, and tailings thickeners, etc).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee structural and civil design, site supervision, and geotechnical analysis.
  • Provide technical guidance, project management, and problem-solving.
  • Support construction, review designs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage projects and serve as a civil and structural subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications.
  • Field support: Provide technical support during construction, including site visits, addressing field changes and liaising with contractors to ensure integrity of the structural designs.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in structural/civil engineering, preferably in mining.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Preferred Professional Engineering License.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other engineering drafting tools such as CAD, design Software as Staad Pro, Risa 3D and 3D review tools such as Navisworks, Smart Plant Review, Analytical, mapping, etc. Skilled in related engineering software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GoldSim), programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Process Industry Practices (PIP), and US Codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC and AWS)
  • technical competence through engineering and/or operations experience in at least one of the following work areas: earthworks, structural steel design, concrete design, construction supervision, dams, conveyor belts, flotation cells, process water balance, tailings thickeners and slurry transport.
  • Experience with large/complex engineering projects
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel when needed.
