Introduction

  • The Senior Safety Technician - Fire role involves ensuring the provision and maintenance of fixed systems and mobile/portable safety and firefighting equipment at the assigned area.
  • The technician is responsible for testing and calibrating safety equipment, managing the preventive maintenance program, and maintaining a detailed computerized record-keeping system.
  • Additionally, the role includes sourcing, evaluating, and preparing purchase orders related to HSE equipment and maintaining detailed records.

What are you going to do 

  • The technician also provides a monitoring function in the assigned area to ensure safe working practices are applied and maintained, identifies potential hazard effects in relation to all operations, and implements department objectives.
  • Participation and advice in implementing operational HSE-related emergency simulations, drills, and exercises are also part of the job

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Educational Qualification: twelve (12) years of Certificated Secondary School Education.
  • Minimum five (5) year’s experience as a Senior Safety Technician in the oil, Gas & Petrochemical industrial environment.
  • Minimum age 25 years
  • Intermediate English Language (QP L5) both spoken and written
  • H2S Training
  • Must obtain a Qatari Light vehicle and HGV license within three (3) months of employment.
  • Current certificate of competency to maintain Draeger and MSA/Scott SCBA
  • Authorized Gas Tester
  • Current certificate of competency to NFPA 1031-Fire Inspector 1 (or equivalent).
