Introduction

To independently determine and prepare the Requisitions for packages of mechanical components and / or equipment that are required in a project, assists in evaluating the technical aspects of bids and executing in order to deliver the packages on time and to ensure that the packages meet the technical requirements.

What are you going to do 

Technical Requirements

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of specifications and requirements for marine mechanical packages and equipment, such as Essential and Emergency Generators, Non-API pumps, Fire Water pumps, Garco pumps, Inert Gas Generator packages, and Low/High Foam Expansion packages.
  • Responsible for ensuring that marine vendor-packaged equipment complies with applicable international standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS), classification rules, ASME, and more.

Engineering Document Preparation

  • Develops technical specifications, standards, and requisitions independently for marine equipment and systems like Essential and Emergency Generators, Non-API pumps, and foam expansion packages.

Supplier Selection

  • Independently assesses technical bids from suppliers, completing evaluations and concluding assessments. Typically handles less complex packages or mid-level risk equipment.

Supplier Management

  • Manages order placement and execution. Reviews supplier documents such as data sheets and drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Acts as the focal point, liaising with stakeholders.

Support for Other Disciplines

  • Provides engineering support and technical advice, ensuring quality control at supplier sites and assisting with construction and commissioning work.

Technical Issue Resolution

  • Resolves technical issues independently, applying expert knowledge throughout package engineering, fabrication, and post-delivery phases.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in the oil and gas sector, with a preference for FPSO and offshore applications
  • Relevant experience with EPC projects
  • Familiarity with design standards and international industry codes such as ASME, NFPA, IMO, and SOLAS classification rules and regulations
