Introduction

What are you going to do 

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience in oil flushing for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and oil flushing procedures on mechanical systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct oil flushing of hydraulic, lubrication, and mechanical systems for FPSO equipment, including pumps, compressors, and turbines.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment and systems onboard the FPSO.
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Follow detailed flushing procedures to ensure the cleanliness of pipes and components, preventing contamination.
  • Operate and maintain oil flushing equipment, ensuring optimal performance throughout the project.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and validation of oil flushing results using specified tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve mechanical and operational issues.
  • Adhere to project timelines and quality standards, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports of oil flushing operations, equipment maintenance, and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture on-site.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities related to mechanical systems.
  • Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician, with specific experience in oil flushing for FPSO or similar offshore projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, lubrication, and fluid systems.
  • Familiarity with oil flushing procedures and equipment used for FPSO applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and repairs on FPSO equipment, including pumps, compressors, and turbines.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and standards in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in offshore environments, with valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET, or equivalent).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in FPSO projects or offshore oil and gas installations.
  • Experience in commissioning and start-up phases of oil flushing operations.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as ISO, API, and other relevant mechanical system standards.
