The SAP H/4 HANA Project Control Lead will manage and oversee the planning, tracking, and control aspects of a large-scale greenfield implementation project.
This role is crucial for ensuring that the project adheres to the defined scope, timelines, and budget, while effectively managing risks and resources.
The Project Control Lead will coordinate with cross-functional teams, providing critical reporting to senior leadership and ensuring smooth project execution.
Project Control & Governance:
Accountable for implementing and managing the project control framework for the greenfield implementation.
Ensure alignment with established project governance structures and activate or similar methodologies.
Financial Management:
Accountable for maintaining financial control over the project, including budget management, cost forecasting, and reporting.
Ensure all financial deviations are tracked, and corrective actions are implemented.
Risk & Issue Management:
Ensure timely identification and management of project risks, including the escalation of critical issues to senior management.
Responsible for ensuring that proactive risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Change Control Management:
Accountable for managing the scope of the project, ensuring all changes are documented, reviewed for impact, and formally approved.
What are you going to do
Project Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with project managers and workstream leads.
Track project milestones and ensure key deliverables are met on time.
Collaboration with Workstreams:
Work closely with functional and technical teams to ensure that the project control processes are aligned with the broader objectives of each workstream.
Lead regular meetings to discuss progress, risks, and issues.
Monitoring & Reporting:
Provide clear and detailed reporting on the project’s progress, financial status, and risks to senior stakeholders.
Ensure documentation of all project control-related processes, financials, and decisions.
Cost Tracking & Resource Allocation:
Monitor project costs, ensuring alignment with forecasts, and propose adjustments when necessary.
Manage resource allocation across project phases to ensure efficient use of internal and external resources.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure project control processes meet quality and regulatory standards, performing quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential skills and knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, or a related field.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 8+ years in project control or management roles.
Deep understanding of project management methodologies, SAP Activate will be a plus.
Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, or equivalent tools.
Project Management qualifications such as Prince 2, PMP or equivalent.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent English both spoken and written.
Oil & Gas Industry SAP Global Implementation experience will be an advantage
