Introduction

  • Represents in communications with different cities and their different departments, the consultant, contractors, and manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of the One Million Tree Plantation in different Cities/Facilities and other Plantation/Landscaping project(s).
  • Provides leadership and direction to the project team, consultants and contractors during the planning, development, design, delivery and commissioning phases of the One Million Tree Plantation and other Plantation/Landscaping project(s).
  • Supports with the establishment of the project delivery strategy, planning, administration, schedule and cost control, design reviews for completeness and constructability, management and coordination of all parties involved.
  • Attends or chairs meetings and / or workshops with consultants and contractors, prepares / follows up weekly, monthly, phase wise meeting minutes and follows up to achieve identified actions.
  • Ensures work is conducted with quality assurance protocols.
  • Is instrumental in establishing a culture throughout all project stages of leading by example, seeking out problems ahead of time and finding practical and cost-effective solutions in collaboration with other project stakeholders.
  • Administers contracts to ensure that all parties discharge their relevant scope of services and deliverables in accordance with their respective contracts.

What are you going to do 

  • Liaises with staff, consultants and contractors. Manage and lead project teams, project engineers, consultants, specialist contractors and cost planners in expediting the One Million Tree Plantation projects requirements.
  • Participates in establishing and implementing the Project Management Plan and procedures.
  • Oversees and guides consultants design progress activities. monitors and verifies design progress and submittals at all design phases.
  • Participate in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for the construction project;
  • Organizes/manages design review meetings, workshops and reports during design and implementation phases.
  • Oversee construction, commissioning and other duties as assigned.
  • Provides conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and review & verify detailed project cost estimates
  • Reviews and monitors project cost estimates, value engineering proposals and cost reconciliation. Advises on all matters pertaining to cost, scope and schedule.
  • Assists in the preparation of tenders. Prepares tender strategy; identifies qualified consultants, contractors and vendors; prepares and issues RFP’s, evaluates proposals; negotiates contract terms/deliverables/payment schedules; and issues recommendation to.
  • Review of projects’ proposals and plans to determine time frames, staffing plans, budget limitations and establishing procedures needed to accomplish the projects.
  • Implements standard risk management routines with management support, to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks. Assists with the development and maintenance of the risk management plan.
  • Verifies, recommends and processes invoices and assesses variations and claims.
  • Provide coherent presentations on arising situations, progress status, and different reporting needs and requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture & related subjects, Architecture, Engineering or Project Management
  • Master's degree preferred. Member of Professional Engineering or Construction Management Society or other recognized body is desirable. Certification(s) in PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to conduct financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret reports, design, documents, drawings, cost sheets etc..
  • Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
  • Requires strong organizational, analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on general topics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design, construction, plantation techniques, procedures, codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in managing a complex project from design through construction document production and construction administration with a multi-disciplined team.
