Introduction

  • Responsible for completeness with high quality in the delivery of all aspects of onshore Piping design related to layout, equipment, materials, technical and execution definition, including planning and execution of detailed design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Ensures technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, data sheets etc.) are correctly developed and implemented, and fully comply with project requirements.
  • During execution, the position is responsible for verifying the design and implementation of greenfield and brownfield Onshore Piping (on plot)
  • Major challenges for this role are (1) effectively managing Contractor to deliver technical input in accordance with project requirements (2) maintaining constructive working relationships with Contractor, its sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure delivery of work scope in accordance with project requirements and (3) maintaining relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Operations and SHE and Quality) to ensure alignment of Piping Engineering deliverables.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide Onshore On Plot Piping Engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance and expertise in accordance with the project deliverables and execution schedule in brownfield and greenfield environment.
  • Prepare and steward related scope of work in Tendering, advise and recommend design procedures, processes, deliverables, and alternative studies, as required, to optimize project cost and schedule.
  • Interact with Engineering Management Team to complete multi-discipline engineering activities, ensuring alignment with the Section-head and Engineering Manager on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with Company’s Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and Project Management System.
  • Ensure Contractor's Engineering activities smooth execution, including validation and qualification of the documents. Experienced in usage of appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software; adherence with all project objectives, requirements, specifications, standards, procedures, execution plans and design verification processes in a brownfield and greenfield environment.
  • Lead site surveys to validate design and implement the management of change process for all aspects of the Project execution.
  • Monitor Contractor’s performance for piping and Static equipment systems, provide advice and takes necessary actions to achieve Company’s design goals and meet specification requirements.
  • Monitors the application of engineered solutions.
  • Resolve in a timely manner Field piping-related issues that arise between the EPC Contractor, PMT, OpCo, vendors, and other interfaces.
  • Provide technical support as required on the pre-mechanical completion/ mechanical acceptance activities and trouble-shooting support during commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Assess and validate Contractor capability in providing all contract documents, progress measurement and reporting, and recommends additional technical support to address gaps.
  • Responsible for the schedule and related milestones, provide data (narrative, charts, graphs, change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays) for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
  • Accountable for sharing previous lessons learned and ensuring current lessons learned and captured and communicated to support review teams and future projects.
  • Develop, review, and amend various policies and procedures to ensure that all Piping engineering references are up to date and relevant.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • 10 years’ experience at Piping Engineering with a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore Compression facilities design, brownfield construction and operations. Experience with CCS/CCUS and CO2 Piping is an added advantage.
  • Well conversant with the development of piping service classes and the design codes related to its development.
  • Formal training and hands-on experience with pipe stress analysis software like CAESER II/Auto Pipe/FE pipe/COSMOS.
  • Design knowledge in piping & nozzle load calculations and interpretation of design drawings and specifications for static equipment e.g. tanks, pressure vessels, exchangers, and piping.
  • Well experienced in the Material requisition and TBE preparation and evaluation
  • Very much conversant with various valves design, used in the Compression and oil and gas facilities.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Strong communication and team-working skills. Strong organizational, planning, management, and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
