Introduction

We are currently hiring an Instrument & Electrical Supervisor for our lubricant's client in Mississauga, ON. You will be responsible for supervising maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient and timely execution of preventative and predictive maintenance plans required for continued production of Lubricant products. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensure safe adherence to scheduled work, including maintenance corrective, regulatory, safety, environmental and break-in production support work
  • Develop training and ensure maintenance technicians are trained and competent to complete the work assigned to them and that work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Ensure that a disciplined approach to safety is present in the maintenance group
  • On a daily basis, set work expectations and work performance levels with employees with timely and meaningful feedback
  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to foster employee engagement, communication and assess work process effectiveness
  • Develop continuous improvement plans for work execution and related processes/procedures
  • Perform performance management of direct reports by consistently applying the collective agreement completing annual performance reviews
  • Manage time entry of assigned craft persons and administer the attendance management process
  • Hold monthly safety meetings, which include review and follow-up on items raised to ensure remedial action is taken
  • Ensure all team members training is completed on time
  • Ensure all regulatory documents and audits are up current
  • Troubleshoot problems to ensure production reduction or downtime is minimized
  • Update job completion on assigned work orders

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 5+ years of refinery maintenance or operations experience
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Electrical or Instrumentation Certificate of Qualification or Engineering degree required
  • In depth knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures
  • Supervisory knowledge of the occupational health and safety act
  • Knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to deal with diverse stakeholders in a unionized environment
  • Business savvy, understanding how to manage competing priorities
  • This position supervises a crew of 10 Instrument Technicians and 10 Electrical Technicians in a union environment. The Supervisor is responsible for performance management of direct reports by consistently applying the CBA and annual performance reviews. This position ensures close adherence to PCLI safety policies and procedures and compliance to the OHSA. This position is a key component in the Maintenance Process.
