Introduction

Brunel is a leading provider of talent solutions, partnering with an innovative offshore contractor specializing in pipelay, heavy lift, and subsea construction projects. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join this dynamic team in Delft and contribute to the development and support of cutting-edge infrastructure solutions.

What are you going to do 

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in automating, optimizing, and maintaining mission-critical systems and applications. This role combines elements of automation, application support, and IT operations to ensure seamless integration and high availability of key applications and services.

  • Develop and optimize automation scripts using PowerShell, focusing on tasks such as patching processes and system configuration.
  • Implement Azure DevOps pipelines to enhance CI/CD processes.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for managing backlogs, work items, and sprints.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation using Azure Wiki.
  • Manage and resolve tickets raised in ITSM tools such as TopDesk (experience with other ITSM tools is acceptable).
  • Monitor application health and performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
  • Perform monthly patching activities for Windows Virtual Machines (VMs).
  • Ensure timely updates and security compliance across environments.
  • Manage and support applications hosted in Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Oversee permissions and configurations for shared drives supporting key applications.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Proven experience in PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
  • Strong understanding of Azure DevOps, including pipelines, backlogs, and documentation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM tools such as TopDesk or equivalents (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
  • Expertise in managing and troubleshooting IIS-hosted applications.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools and techniques for application health checks.
  • Familiarity with managing permissions for shared drives and file systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
