Meet Liz Gleeson

Liz took an unusual path to the recruiting industry. Born and raised in Ireland, Liz attended Trinity College in Dublin where she double majored in Classical Music and Modern Irish. She is an accomplished vocalist/pianist who is fluent in Irish. Gleeson spent many years in retail and more recently recruitment within the manufacturing industry where she developed a passion for people and a heart for serving others.

Eager to see the world, Liz relocated from Dublin, Ireland to Vancouver, Canada in 2019. Transitioning from life on the island of Ireland to the 2nd largest country in the world with no family nearby was a bit of a culture shock. Looking for a way to connect and to impact people her new country, Liz found an opportunity as a Recruitment Specialist where she could combine her desire to make a difference and experience in the food industry with a fast-paced work environment where she could learn about new industries. Her goal was to make people’s lives better and to get them the right career opportunities, and with that mindset Gleeson quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in recruiting. Liz rapidly became one of the top performers at her firm, eventually being promoted to Business Development Manager.

Joining Brunel

Liz joined the Brunel Life Sciences team in September to continue her recruiting career. She will be responsible for Business Development and Recruitment, primarily in the Food & Beverages industry. She will cover a broad range of categories within the Food & Beverage industry including food processing, distribution, retail, packaging and more.

Liz was attracted to Brunel because of the opportunity to work with a large international company that has established itself as a forerunner in the Life Sciences industry that also shows a true Passion for People. In the hiring process Liz could easily tell that Brunel’s leadership is diverse, knowledgeable, and truly cares about the people they work with. She said of joining Brunel, “I’m excited to learn a lot of new things from women who are currently where I want to be in this industry.”

Making a Name

Even though she’s only been with Brunel for a few weeks, Liz has already made a name for herself with the company. After completing the Brunel Academy – an intensive 2-week training program to get “Dipped in Yellow” with about a dozen other new hires – Liz was named the Top Performer for her excellent work during the program.

Passion for People

Liz undoubtedly has a bright future at Brunel, but while her peers see her as a future CEO type, she remains focused on improving people’s lives and having fun while doing it. Her ambitions are to place as many mid-senior level candidates as possible in jobs they’ll love and to make Brunel a household name in Food Industry recruitment for North America.
