Introduction

Our Client, one of the largest Petrochemical Company in Kuwait is currently recruiting for Valve Discipline Activity Specialist (Valve DAS) based in Kuwait.

Location : Shuaiba, Kuwait

Contract Duration : Long Term Permanent

Type of Hire : Secondment Contract (Under Brunel’s Visa & Pay Rolling)

Employment Status : Single / Bachelor

What are you going to do 

Role Description:

  • The Valve DAS is assigned with the wide responsibility to ensure the safety, Quality / inspection, repair, witness and testing of all kind of valves as per standard & codes;
  • Includes all relief devices, automated valves, regulators etc. to ensure the equipment’s are serviced and maintained in reliable conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote discipline knowledge exchange and quality application through technical coaching in order to achieve high performance standards;
  • Coordinate and participate in the prioritization process of periodic technology improvements, upgrades, testing or any high value supported improvement opportunities to enhance maintenance activities and reliability across Company;
  • Assist in providing advance trouble shooting in order to ensure Reliability, cost reduction and equipment productivity;
  • Serve as a technical resource in technical evaluations of suppliers and projects to identify opportunities for improvement in order to achieve best quality;
  • Monitor and validate supplier performance within the discipline operation unit to maintain and recommend opportunities for improvements incompliance with operational procedures and regulations;
  • Review jobs history form to ensure the quality and reliability of equipment after maintenance activities completion;
  • Review job Feedback forms in relates to job duration in order to optimize maintenance job execution;
  • Good skills and knowledge on control valves and valve smart positioners;
  • Familiar with valve failure moods and damage mechanisms, to be able to conduct root cause investigation;
  • Ability to analyze the repair reports;
  • Material and repair knowledge;
  • Familiarized with Codes API 527, API 2000, API 598, ASME B16.34 and API 6D and ANSI/FCI 70 codes;
  • Witness the closure & hydro testing of pipeline Mechanical valve, safety valves and control valves;
  • Familiar with valve components and critical inspections;
  • Familiar to work on Field Vue DVC 6000 series, Masoneilan SVI, SVII digital valve controller and other smart controllers and positioners;
  • Knowledge to read & understand the piping and instrument diagram, (P&ID) & data sheet;
  • Knowledge to read hook up drawings for instrumentation and identify components and logics;
  • Valve spares interchangeability and maintain the needed spares on stock;
  • Review valve spare quotations and complete assemble of valves (Manual , control, PSV) as per Company specifications;
  • Experience in troubleshooting during Turnarounds and shutdowns;
  • Assist with interdisciplinary departments in Company (Engineering, automation, etc.) for project planning and execution;
  • Field inspection of safety valves/control valves, Mechanical valves when needed;
  • Field calibration (test) of boiler steam safety valves;
  • Availability for callout during off hours.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in mechanical or instrumentation engineering with 5 Years, or 3-year Diploma in mechanical or instrumentation with 10 years’ relevant experience in petrochemical field;
  • 5 years experience with engineering degree or 10 year experience with Diploma;
  • Required Qualified/certified from safety valve & control valve OEM.
