We are currently hiring an Underground Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic for our mining client in Sudbury, ON. You will be responsible for the personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement. This is a permanent opportunity on a rotational 5 on/5 off/4 on/4 off schedule. Rotating nights and days.

What are you going to do 

We are currently hiring an Underground Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic for our mining client in Sudbury, ON. You will be responsible for the personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement. This is a permanent opportunity on a rotational 5 on/5 off/4 on/4 off schedule. Rotating nights and days.
Perform maintenance and repair on underground heavy-duty equipment, including drills, loaders, and haul trucks.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety. Diagnose mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance practices and equipment reliability.

Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your success in this role. Applicants must be a certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Truck and Coach Technician or Automotive Service Technician with at least three years recent, relevant experience, and possess a valid driver's license.
This position requires strong mechanical and communication skills both written and orally. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in an underground mining environment.
Willingness to work in a physically demanding and challenging environment.
