Introduction

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to work on underground mining operations, playing a key role in delivering mechanical projects from conception to completion. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure projects align with design specifications, budgets, and deadlines while working closely with cross-functional teams.

What are you going to do 

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budget constraints, and timelines.
  • Conduct cost reconciliations, identify risks and opportunities, and manage project budgets for Life of Mine and 5-Year Plans.
  • Perform site assessments (surface and underground) to determine feasibility and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth execution.
  • Use project management software and CAD tools to support engineering decisions and project tracking.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a mechanical project management role.
  • Experience in the underground coal mining industry (highly regarded).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, systems, and components.
  • Proficiency in project management software and CAD tools.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced industry.
