What are you going to do 

Reporting to the Superintendent - the Production Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operations of the plant during their assigned shift, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. The shift supervisor also leads and supports the plant operators, troubleshoots any issues, and liaises with other departments and external stakeholders.

This role is residential in Gladstone, Queensland. The role will initially be on days, and proceed to a shift pattern upon commencement of operations.

  • Be a key leadership & supervision role within of the Operations Team to create a high performing team environment
  • Lead a safety, learning and continuous improvement culture across the asset
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hydrogen production facility, including monitoring equipment, processes and production metrics in ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure the staffing of the shift positions in each shift, including shift backfill where required
  • Perform and assist operations tasks as required
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Develop and coordinate operational readiness and commissioning activities as required, including procedure development, personnel hires and training.
  • Ensuring compliance to the COW systems and procedures, and perform the role of authorising officer

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical qualifications or relevant industry experience
  • Trade qualification preferred
  • Cert IV in Process Plant Technology preferred

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Proven experience in the supervision of a team of people within chemical/gas/minerals processing or similar
  • Strong understanding of industrial operations, process control, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in analysing operational data, troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Experience working within a hazardous facility preferred
  • Experience in control room operation
  • Proficient computer and strong communication skills
