Introduction

What are you going to do 

Our international client is looking urgently for a Machinery Team Lead Supervisor for their new building project of 4 container vessels. You will integrate the supervision team of the ship owner to work in a multi-cultural environment. Reporting to Site Manager.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:* Safety with the mindset of lead by example
* Comply with the Integrated Management System and all relevant international rules and regulations* Ensure all your duties in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies
* Lead the Machinery supervisor team. Up to 4 supervisors at project's peak period* Distribute and organize the machinery inspections in the yard or outside the yard
* Ensure that the vessels are built according to the building specifications, the approved drawings and standards and according to the applicable rules and regulations
* Keep an overview on all the vessels construction status and progress* Anticipate the potential technical or construction issues
* Follow-up and overview the list of machinery comments* Proactively call for meetings to discuss technical issues;
* Discuss with the representatives of the Yard, of the Classification Society , of the Manufacturers or of the Subcontractors to find solutions to technical issues;
* Advise your team members on technical issues;* Report any significant issues to your Site-Manager;
* Ensure that the weekly and monthly reports are properly filled and ready on date;* Attend inspections ; patrolling ; commissioning and testing ; Harbor trials and Sea trials and Factory Acceptance
Tests (FAT)* Prepare the vessels for readiness prior delivery
* Review and approve procedures* You may be required to perform other duties
* This is not an office job: You shall spend the majority of your working time on the field. The work location is in the Shanghai area.

Essential skills and knowledge 

The ideal candidate meet below requirements & qualifications:* 5 years experience as Machinery supervisor for Ship's Owner in an international environment.
* Overall understanding of the functions, operations and inter-relations of a whole ship's systems and equipmentsis required.
* Experience as ships' sailing Officer engineer preferred.* Experience with 2-strokes main engines preferred.
* Basic experience and knowledge in electric systems and automation is preferred* Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering
* Fluent English in speaking and writing skills* Knowledge in maritime regulations
* Computer Office package (Excel ; Power point etc..)* Care for other, respectful, team player.
* Proactive and flexible* Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment;
* Effective verbal, written and presentation skills* We prefer candidates that already live in China at the moment.
