Introduction

  • Assist the Land Surveyor with associated activities including but not limited to conducting field survey, operating survey instruments, and providing survey checked CAD data with associated information for updating the consolidated master as-built drawings and GIS.
  • Conduct regular contacts and interactions with designers, draftsmen, and printing and archive staff.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with accepted Engineering practice.
  • Spend about 75% of working hours on site activities with resultant exposure to ambient desert conditions.

What are you going to do 

  • Assist the Land Surveyor in carrying out field surveys, and report to him for any concern related to the site activities or other requirements to enable timely further actions as necessary.
  • Conduct minor routine survey activities as directed by the supervisor as well as ADHOC surveys to protect Company Industrial Cities assets in the assigned area.
  • Maintain the safety of surveying equipment and ensure position/setup around the site location under survey to enable swift and continuous required survey operations.
  • Update all survey drawings on a regular basis, incorporating all newly completed projects to facilitate review and use by other relevant users.
  • Survey and provide CAD drawings for updating consolidated master drawing and GIS.
  • Facilitate and expedite surveying activities on site to suit sequence of survey data acquisition requirements.
  • Actively contribute to organizing and coordinating all survey equipment yearly calibration to ensure accurate data to be updated in the system.
  • Upkeep of all survey equipment in the office to ensure all the equipment are always in good condition and ready for use in routine and Ad-hoc survey requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Completion of Secondary education (12 years) preferably completion of 3 years Diploma in Land Surveying, following by at least three years full time topographical land survey experience in a well-established engineering company preferable in oil and gas sector.
  • High experience in operating Total Station and or GPS equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Must have a valid driving license.
